In addition, the Kraft Craft Beer of the Year 2023 Competition will, for the first time, present special mentions/awards to breweries based on the weight and number of medals won in each category (explained in the Competition rules).
These will be awards for breweries that:

1. won the most and most valuable medals of all categories:

(a) Best Micro KPR Brewery 2023 (up to 1,000 hl production in 2022),

b) Best Small Brewery KPR 2023 (from 1 000 hl to 5 000 hl production in 2022),

(c) Best Medium Brewery KPR 2023 (between 5 000 hl and 20 000 hl production in 2022),

d) Best Large Brewery KPR 2023 (above 20 000 hl production in 2022),

e) Best Restoration Brewery KPR 2023 (optional participation, does not also exclude an award in category a) or b)

f) Best Debut Brewery KPR 2023 (for breweries that started commercial beer sales between 1 January 2023 and 24 November 2023)

In this category we have collected all British light and amber ales. Irish people wouldn't like it, but Irish Red Ale also made their way here. Strong British ale and English IPA are excluded from this category. Summer Ale may contain New Wave hops, but if they are dominant it is better to submit the beer in the Session IPA, American Pale Ale or Hazy American Pale Ale category.
